Who is the Dependant’s Pass for?

The Dependent’s Pass is catered to legally married spouses or unmarried children (<21 years old) of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders.

Note: there is a different set of requirements for dependents of ONE Pass holders and EntrePass holders.

A brief overview of eligibility criteria

You may apply for a Dependant’s Pass for your family if you:

  1. Are an Employment Pass/S Pass Holder
  2. Earn a minimum fixed monthly salary of $6000 (based on salary and not combined household income)
  3. Are sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company (often by employer).

Family members who qualify for the Dependent’s Pass include legally married spouses and unmarried children under 21 years old. This also includes legally adopted children. If your family members are ineligible for the Dependent’s Pass, they may qualify for a Long-Term Visit Pass.

Who can apply for the Dependant’s Pass?

Employers or appointed employment agents should apply on behalf of the candidate.

How long is the Dependant’s Pass valid for?

The duration of the pass is tied to the validity of the main work pass, or up to the duration requested (whichever is shorter). The pass can be renewed up to 6 months before the expiry. Remember to apply for renewal early – missing the deadline means having to apply for a new pass!

How much do I have to pay for the Dependant’s Pass?

  • Application fee: $105
  • To get the pass issued: $225
  • For each Multiple Journey Visa (if applicable): $30

How do I apply for the Dependant’s Pass for my worker’s/my family members?

Step 1: Submit an application

Depending on the type of pass you hold, submission of the application will either be done by yourself or your employer.

Prepare the necessary documents to be submitted and log into the EP eService on the myMOM portal to complete the application. Each application requires a $105 fee, which can be paid by GIRO, Visa, Mastercard or Amex.

After 3 weeks (for dependants of EP or S Pass holders), you can check the status of your application. If the pass is approved, you will need to print the in-principle approval (IPA) letter and send the pass holder’s copy to the foreigner. Depending on the pass type of the pass holder, the foreigner must be brought to Singapore to get the pass issued by a certain time period.

Take note: the processing time for dependents of PEP, Entrepass and EP (Sponsorship) holders is within 8 weeks – candidates may check their application status after 1 week.

Step 2: Prepare for Arrival

You must ensure that the foreigner is compliant with the latest travel requirements before arriving in Singapore.

Step 3: Get the pass issued

You should log into the EP eService to provide the required documents and any information. There is a $225 fee to be paid for each pass. Both you and the foreigner will receive a notification letter via email which allows the foreigner to travel in and out of Singapore while waiting for the pass card, and states whether the foreigner needs to have their fingerprints or photo taken for registration.

Step 4: Receive the card

The card will be delivered to the indicated address within 5 days of registration and verification. Card holders can then download SGWorkPass to scan the QR code on their new card to check status, expiry date and more.

All in all, applying for the Dependant’s Pass may seem difficult, and a lot of trouble to go through to be with your family. ScAilable is here to ensure the application process goes smoothly, and you and your family will be reunited in no time.
